What is a Teaching Kitchen?
A space where you can cook, eat, and learn all about healthy foods in a fun hands-on group environment. A Teaching Kitchen offers educational opportunities around basic cooking skills, nutrition education, mindful eating, family meals, infant feeding, and more. WIC participants will learn how to utilize their WIC foods in new, creative ways in addition to trying new foods. The Teaching Kitchen also provides the ability for a multigenerational cooking experience for parents or grandparents to cook alongside their children.
Classes last about an hour, which includes time for cooking and enjoying the foods you make. Bring the little ones, roll up your sleeves, come hungry, and prepare to get your hands dirty.
