Adagio Health Earns Veteran Ready Certification for the Third Consecutive Year

Adagio Health, a nonprofit women’s healthcare organization serving communities across Western Pennsylvania, has earned Veteran Ready Certification from PsychArmor for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and barrier-free care to veterans, particularly women veterans.

The continued recognition reflects Adagio Health’s sustained investment in military cultural awareness training and its dedication to reducing barriers to care for military-connected individuals.

Adagio Health’s Women Veterans Care Initiative, established to address the unique needs of women who have served, covers out-of-pocket expenses such as co-pays, transportation, supplies, and program materials for eligible patients in Butler, Fayette, Indiana, Lawrence, and Venango counties. Adagio Health accepts most insurance plans, including TRICARE, and eligibility remains intentionally barrier-free, with no DD-214, discharge status, or length-of-service requirements needed to receive care.

“We value our healthcare partners who are actively working to enhance healthcare competence through education and training,” said Dr. Tina Atherall, CEO of PsychArmor. “Cultural awareness training for providers assists in reducing or eliminating barriers to care.”

Adagio Health’s veteran-focused work is grounded in both evidence and lived experience. In 2022, the organization commissioned the RAND Corporation to conduct a regional needs assessment of women veterans, published in 2023, which continues to inform program design and outreach. Trauma-informed practices are incorporated across the organization’s care model.

Women veterans served through Adagio Health have access to a wide range of supportive services, including:
