P.H.A.T. (Promoting Health Among Teens)

Promoting Health Among Teens! is an abstinence–only curriculum is designed to help students cultivate positive attitudes towards abstinence and gain the negotiation skills and confidence necessary to abstain from sexual intercourse and other sexual behavior that put them at risk for HIV, STD and pregnancy.

This program is labeled an abstinence-only curriculum because it focuses entirely on knowledge, attitudes, and skills that encourage and assist young people in implementing abstinence in their relationships. The focus of every learning activity is on abstinence.

After participating in the curriculum, students will
  • Recognize abstinence as the best way to avoid Pregnancy and HIV/STDs.
  • View abstinence as a positive choice.
  • Recognize teen pregnancy, HIV and other STDs as obstacles to their goals and dreams.
  • Respond with confidence to pressures to have sex.

P.H.A.T. is a 12 session curriculum focused on middle school and early high school.
