We thank you for your support.
Just a note of thanks to you for helping me with a very stressful month of my life. With getting laid off after 13 years and losing my benefits, I didn't know what I was going to do but cancel my breast biopsy. When I was told that your organization was able to help me, I was so grateful. It was one less thing I had to worry about. Your office called Friday and told me everything was benign! Yeah!!!Denise
"I don't know how my kids would eat without the WIC program. We never would have been able to afford the formula my daughter needed and she would have been in a lot of pain. Even now, my kids would not eat nearly as healthy as they do without the help of fruits and veggies from the farmers market checks. The good foods for them are so expensive and we just don't have that money."Amber
"Power Up is very important to me because I understand how easy it is to become overweight and how education can make all the difference in changing a person's life. In 2004, the school I was working in offered a free health fair through our insurance provider. I decided to participate and learned that at 26 years old, I was 252 pounds and morbidly obese. My total cholesterol was 225. At that point, I decided to make a change in my life.
Through Power Up, I learned how to make better food choices, the importance of exercise, and how to make small, lasting, and positive changes in my life. I managed to lose 62 pounds and lowered my cholesterol by 50 points. I have kept the weight off for ten years. Power Up works. the education it provides is crucial to families in my community."Chad
