Adagio Health and Partners to Host Regional Symposium at Slippery Rock University Focused on Integrated Healthcare and Recovery
Adagio Health, in partnership with Rural Communities C.A.R.E Consortium, Hamot Health Foundation, and Slippery Rock University, will host The Way Forward: Integrated Care Symposium on May 29 at Slippery Rock University. The symposium brings together healthcare professionals, educators, community organizations, and regional leaders to address integrated care strategies and improve health outcomes across rural Western Pennsylvania.
As rural communities continue facing growing behavioral health, maternal health, substance use, and healthcare access challenges, the symposium aims to strengthen coordinated care strategies and cross-sector partnerships throughout the region.
The symposium will focus on advancing whole-person, community-centered care models that address these ongoing challenges in rural areas. Additional sessions throughout the day explore various topics on:
- Integrated healthcare delivery models
- Substance use disorder treatment and recovery support
- Maternal and behavioral healthcare integration
- Addressing barriers to care in rural communities
- Cross-sector collaboration to improve patient outcomes
“This symposium represents an important opportunity to bring together professionals and community leaders who are committed to creating stronger, more connected systems of care,” said Alli Clevenger, Vice President of Disease Prevention Programs and Special Projects at Adagio Health. “By sharing innovative strategies and strengthening partnerships, we can continue building healthier communities and improving outcomes for individuals and families across our region.”
Two keynote sessions will open the symposium. In her keynote, Kari Earle will explore the challenges and opportunities involved in addressing problematic substance use and behavioral health concerns within medical and behavioral care settings.
Earle is a Technical Expert Lead at JBS International with more than 30 years of experience in clinical care, leadership, and consulting focused on strengthening systems that support healthy, resilient communities. Her work centers on leading cross-sector public and behavioral health initiatives that improve outcomes for underserved populations through collaborative, dignity-centered approaches.
The second keynote will provide an overview of UPMC’s Children’s TiPS, or Telephonic Psychiatric Consultation Services, and UPMC’s Perinatal TiPS program, highlighting innovative approaches to expanding access to psychiatric support across PA.
“We are focused on breaking down silos between behavioral health, recovery services, and primary care to create more accessible and effective pathways to care,” Clevenger said.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to earn continuing education credits through this live educational activity, which is jointly accredited by the University of Pittsburgh through the ACCME, ACPE, and ANCC to provide continuing education for members of the healthcare team.
