Medicaid

If you carry one of these cards, threats to Medicaid could threaten your care.

Act now to protect Medicaid and ensure continued access to vital healthcare services for millions of families.

SNAP-Ed

SNAP-Ed is in jeopardy and your voice matters. This vital program does more than teach nutrition. It’s part of our healthcare system, supporting WIC, food banks, and community gardens, improving food access, and uplifting local farmers and veterans. Cutting SNAP-Ed would harm families and communities across Pennsylvania and beyond.

In Pennsylvania this year:

  • 158,095 people received nutrition education
  • 604,542 residents were reached through policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) strategies
  • 1.1 million views were generated through social media and other forms of digital outreach that encourage healthy behaviors.

I’m calling/writing to strongly urge you to support continued funding for the Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Grant, commonly called SNAP-Ed. SNAP-Ed is a critical, cost-effective federal program that provides nutrition education and obesity prevention programming to low-income individuals and families. It helps people make healthy food choices and prioritize whole foods.

Medicaid makes all of that possible on a larger scale—keeping moms, babies, children, and people with disabilities connected to the care they need. Please protect these vital programs. They keep families in western Pennsylvania, particularly in rural communitieshealthy, independent, and strong.”
