Insurance Billing Specialist

100% time (40 hours per week)

Reports to:
Information Systems Invoicing Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Assures that all third party insurance billing data is accurate by reviewing claims before mailing.

  • Prepares and submits secondary insurance billing as appropriate.
  • Posts payments and denials in patient accounts and adjusts account balances accordingly.
  • Interfaces with third party insurance payors to resolve billing payment matters and A/R advices.

  • Prepares A/R and A/P reports and follow-up as necessary.
  • Answers client and staff inquiries regarding patient services insurance billing and/or claims submission status.
  • Communicates with field management staff regarding problems with third party billing submissions at the site level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education.  Successful completion of insurance billing training program preferred.  Minimum two years work experience in automated outpatient third party insurance billing required.  Some travel required.

Salary: $25,600.00 (annually)
