Healthy Start House's staff members provide educational programs to address the concerns of parents of young children and the needs of those who are re-entering the job market. Program topics include:

  • helping siblings adjust to a new baby
  • infant CPR
  • child development
  • toy safety
  • child-proofing the home
  • healthy relationships
  • life skills
  • introduction to computers
  • resume-writing
  • preparing for the job market
  • budgeting
  • stress management

In the past, Healthy Start House has collaborated with the Allegheny County Health Department to provide childhood immunizations.

Programs are designed to meet the needs of Healthy Start House residents, former residents, their partners, and their families. However, most programs are open to the general public.
