Keeping Women Healthy

The Keeping Women Healthy coalition involves more than eighty organizations across Pennsylvania, all working together to secure state funds for preventive health care services for uninsured women.
Services to be provided through the Keeping Women Healthy initiative include:
- testing for high blood pressure, anemia, and cancer
- osteoporosis prevention
- birth control
- diagnosis and treatment of STDs
- adoption, prenatal, and parenting education
- abuse screening
Keeping Women Healthy coalition efforts are based on the idea that all Pennsylvania women should have access to preventive health care services. KWH coalition members share a desire for healthier women and families, lower health care costs from early detection of medical problems, fewer unintended pregnancies, and lower abortion rates.
